According to El Periodico, Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique and his singer-partner Shakira have been living separately since a few weeks after the Spain international was caught cheating on the singer.
During the live stream podcast of Mamarazzis, journalist Emilio Perez has claimed that the Colombian performer caught her partner cheating on her with another woman a few weeks back, which has reportedly led to the separation of the couple.
The report further states that the four-time Champions League winner has moved out of the place he used to live-in with Shakira and that it has been a couple of weeks since the incident. Pique, who is reported to frequently visit nightclubs and parties alongside temmate Riqui Puig is said to be living alone in a different place now.
Another reason cited for the couple’s separation as per the same report is Pique’s uncontrollable partying. It is also being reported that the player has been spotted with his friends and other women partying and staying out till 2 or 3 am numerous times, whilst several neighbours in the building have also seen the 35-year-old entering and leaving over the last week.
As per another report in Rolling Stone, rumours about their alleged split further gained traction due to Shakira’s latest hit Te Felicito that hints at the couple’s separation.
“My eyes are red from crying so much for you; and now, it turns out that you are sorry; it sounds sincere, but I know you well and I know that you lie; I congratulate you, how well you act,”
the lyrics read.
The ‘Waka Waka’ pop star started dating the central defender during the shoot of the 2010 FIFA World Cup promotion song. The couple who have dated each other for 12-years have two children together – Milan and Sasha; however, they remain unmarried.
The La Masia youth graduate still has two years remaining on his Barca contract that would run till June 2024, after which he is most certain to retire, given he will already be 37 years of age at that point of time.
