Record Indian Premier League champions MI had a miserable outing in the recently concluded 15th edition of the tournament, losing their first eight matches in a row. The Rohit Sharma-led side struggled to find the right balance in their squad, after losing a few key players as a result of the major reshuffle caused by the mega auction. They finished last in what was an utterly disappointing campaign given their high standards, behind old foes Chennai Super Kings, who also had a forgettable season altogether. In addition, Sharma had a torrid time with the bat, as he was unable to get a…

It was yet another ‘nearly’ season for the Punjab Kings, who missed out on qualification yet again, as they finished sixth on the Indian Premier League 2022 points table. It has been a case of undesirable consistency for the Mayank Agarwal-led side, who have finished sixth every season for the last four years. They have qualified for the playoffs only twice, well behind all the other teams in that respect. As has generally been the case with PBKS, they had a good start to the season, and some brilliant performances from time to time, but they lacked the consistency, which…
