Fabio Paratici’s arrival has coincided with a burst of transfer business at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Spurs are set to welcome Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini, while they are also inching closer towards securing a deal for Cristian Romero.
Tottenham are pushing on with their pursuit of Atalanta defender Cristian Romero in the hopes of securing a deal soon – reports Fabrizio Romano. The Argentinian defender won Serie A’s Defender of the Year award last season while on loan at La Dea from Juventus. Atalanta hoped to convert Romero’s two-year deal into a permanent one this summer, but Spurs are now hoping to sign him from the Italian side straight away.
Romano also reports that personal terms have been agreed between the player and Spurs while the clubs continue to negotiate a final transfer fee. The North London outfit has also offered Davinson Sanchez to Atalanta as part of the deal – as per some reports. Meanwhile, the Serie A side – who qualified for the UEFA Champions League again last season – is asking for a fee around the 55 million euro mark.
Meanwhile, Romero’s Atalanta teammate, Pierluigi Gollini, is confirmed to be on his way to London to join Tottenham. The player himself confirmed the move when quizzed about it, stating that he rejected proposals from other Italian clubs in the process.
I had proposals from Italian clubs but Tottenham are the best one! I respect Hugo Lloris, he’s a great goalkeeper and I’m proud to work with him at Spurs.
he said.
Gollini, who came through the Manchester United academy and played for Aston Villa, will sign for Spurs on a loan deal initially. Should the Italian make 20 appearances next term, the club will be obligated to pay Atalanta 13 million pounds in transfer fee. Furthermore, Spurs will also have the option of extending Gollini’s loan for another season should he fail to hit the 20-appearance mark.
Spurs are expected to announce the signing of Gollini shortly, along with that of Bryan Gil from Sevilla. Gil will join Spurs after the club agreed to send Sevilla Erik Lamela and 25 million pounds in return.
