After the IPL 2021 was suspended midway, the BCCI has been trying hard to organize the remaining matches in September. However, SRH’ Kane Williamson and other NZ players might miss out on rest of the season as Kiwis will take on Pakistan in September.
While Williamson is one of the biggest names who hails from New Zealand to participate in the marquee league, players like Kyle Jamieson, Jimmy Neesham, Lockie Ferguson, Finn Allen, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, and Tim Siefert also feature for different franchises in IPL.
Williamson has also been appointed as the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise in the middle of the IPL 2021 after David Warner had a fortgettable season, both as a captain as well as a batsman. Jamieson, one of the most expensive buys during the 2021 IPL auctions, has also become a major part of the RCB franchise.
At the time when IPL was suspended, the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals were placed at the top in the points table. Till now, Delhi has won 6 out of the 8 matches that they have played in the 2021 edition of the IPL. Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad are languishing at the bottom of the points table. The ‘Orange Army’ has won just one out of the 7 matches thus far.
