Liverpool are keeping tabs on West Ham United talisman Jarrod Bowen ahead of a proposed summer bid. The Reds are also following Leeds United’s Raphinha and Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma, as Mohamed Salah’s contract conundrum continues.
Reports in the summer claimed that Liverpool were keeping a close watch on West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen. The Reds, however, stopped short of launching an official bid for the winger, and Bowen, so far, has thrived as one of the Hammers’ leading men. Nonetheless, the Merseyside club is persisting with its interest in the player and could launch a move for him come summer 2022 – as per Football Insider.
Despite being short up top due to Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s involvement in the African Cup of Nations, Liverpool will not attempt to bring Bowen in during the ongoing transfer window. The Reds will continue to monitor the Englishman for what already has proven to be quite a productive season for him; Bowen has eight goals and eight assists in 30 games, so far for the Hammers in 2021/22.
While the West Ham talisman remains Liverpool’s priority target, he is not the only one they are observing with a view towards a future move. With Salah, Mane, and Roberto Firmino’s futures unclear, the Premier League giants are also keeping an eye on Leeds United’s Raphinha and Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.
The contract situation of their three top stars is bound to keep Liverpool busy for the next couple of years; all of Salah, Mane, and Firmino are out of contract in 2023. Out of the three, Salah has been the most vocal about his quickly receding deal with the Reds, recently claiming he wants to continue at Anfield, but that a decision is out of his hands.
“They know what I want. I’m not asking for crazy stuff,”
Salah told GQ in a recent interview.
Worryingly for the Liverpool faithful, the Telegraph claims that the club is apprehensive about meeting his current demands, and talks are set to continue with a view towards finding a conclusion in time before his contract runs out.
