This week, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp he was in the news because of the actor Daniel Craig, who has recently announced he will no longer be in James Bond movies. Craig pipped the German to overtake him to do the role.
This happened in a conversation with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher during a promotional event for his upcoming and final Bond movie “No Time to Die”. Craig stated that he would bet on Klopp to do his role if he wishes to do so.
In response to it, Liverpool boss said that he was a big fan of the franchise. He mentioned that there have been two encounters over the years that he has enjoyed the most, one with Bond and the other with former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
“Thank you for having these nice words, but I would be a very bad James Bond! If I walked out of the water in swim shorts I think that would be the moment the whole world would switch off!
As a kid, I wanted to be James Bond, but that’s long ago. I was lucky enough to meet Daniel Craig on two occasions and I actually will miss him as James Bond,”
Klopp said.
Klopp had joined Liverpool in 2015, succeeding Brendan Rodgers. The German took some time to get his first trophy, but when he did, he won the Champions League in 2019 and followed it up with the club World Cup and Premier League title in the next season.
Klopp’s men once again prepare to mount a major title challenge in 2021/22. Having remained unbeaten since the start of the season, Liverpool dropped points only on two occasions, getting off to a sensational start in the Premier League, League Cup and Champions League.
The Reds, who currently occupy second spot in the Premier League table, will play against fifth-placed Manchester City on October 3.
