The FIFA 22 ratings are out, and Lionel Messi has topped the charts again. Now at a new club, the Argentine international is the highest-rated player in the game, whilst his rival, Cristiano Ronaldo, is only the third-best.

EA Sports have revealed the highest-rated players in their game. Lionel Messi, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona, takes the top spot ahead]. The Argentine attacker is 93-rated in-game, one more than the next best-rated player.

Next on the list behind Messi is Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker pips Cristiano Ronaldo for the second spot on the back of a record-breaking goal scoring season. Lewandowski became the leading Bundesliga scorer in a single season during the previous campaign, as he helped Bayern retain the German title yet again. He is rated 92 in the game.

Sharing the third spot behind Messi and Lewandowski is the quiet of Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Jr, and Jan Oblak. Harry Kane, N’Golo Kante, and Manuel Neuer complete the top ten – the latter pipping his international teammates Marc-Andre ter Stegen narrowly, despite the two players sharing the same rating.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Mohamed Salah, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Karim Benzema, Virgil van Dijk, Joshua Kimmich, Heung-min Son, Alisson, Thibaut Courtois, Casemiro, Ederson, Sadio Mane make up the top twenty highest-rated players in-game. Meanwhile, big hitters Romelu Lukaku and Erling Haaland missed out by narrow margins. The game will be released to the general public early on September 27, 2021, before its full release on October 1.
