Everton manager has ruled out Richarlison’s departure from Goodison Park as Paris Saint Germain have shown interest in the Brazilian forward. The Brazil international joined Everton from Watford in 2018, and since then, he has been a fan favourite for the Toffees.
While the 24-year-old has grown in stature at Merseyside, several reports are suggesting a move elsewhere. With PSG interested, Everton fans are worried that Rciharlison may move to greener pastures.
The Parisians are in the market to sign a new forward as Real Madrid step up in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe. Los Blancos have submitted a second bid of €170m for the Frenchman and feel that it will be enough to lure Mbappe out of the French capital.
The 2018 World Cup winner has only one year left in his current contract, and he has denied signing fresh terms with the Parisians. Therefore the French giants are tied up, and accepting the big-money move for the youngster looks like a viable option.
Therefore PSG have shown great interest in Richarlison as they weigh up their options to replace Mbappe.
However, Rafael Benitez has completely denied the claims:
“We are not considering selling him,” the Toffees boss told a press conference ahead of his side’s trip to Brighton on Saturday afternoon. “He’s our player, we’re really pleased with him, really happy, and hopefully he can score a lot of goals this year for us.”
Richarlison has featured in 121 appearances for the Toffees and has scored 43 goals. In the 2019-20 season, he registered 13 goals and four assists in the Premier League. He developed a great partnership with English forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Richarlison was also pivotal to Brazil’s Olympic gold medal triumph this year in Tokyo. He guided the Selecaos to a final win over Spain as Brazil managed to defend their Olympic gold medal.
