Strong rumours are surfacing over the last couple of years, over Kylian Mbappe’s departure from Parc des Princes. The Frenchman is keeping his options open and while the Parisians wait for him to take a call on his future, new signing Georginio Wijnaldum believes that the youngster should listen to his heart.
The Dutch midfielder was one of the players who joined the Ligue 1 giants this summer in a free transfer from Liverpool. Along with Wijnaldum, Euro 2020 star Gianluigi Donnrumma has also joined the club with Achraf Hakimi also making the move from Inter Milan. Paris Saint Germain are making a conscious effort of bolstering their ranks as they are desperate to win their first UEFA Champions League after falling short for the last two seasons.
The young and dynamic French superstar’s contract expires next year and he has been a long term target for Real Madrid. Mbappe is yet to make a decision but as time passes by it looks like the 2018 World Cup winner with France may leave the French capital either this summer or in the next.
The former Liverpool who led the Netherlands to the Euros relates with Mbappe’s contract situation as he ran out of contract at Anfield this summer. Wijnaldum had interest from FC Barcelona but he decided to join the Parisians listening to his heart. He reveals that his decision to join the Ligue 1 giants was based on the fact that he could play with Neymar and Mbappe. Therefore he advises the youngster to listen to his intuition.
Everyone wants Mbappe to stay, starting with me because he is one of the reasons that made me come to PSG, to play with players like him. I was already very happy to see that Neymar had extended.
he told RMC.
I’ve been in that position too and most of the time you follow your feelings. I just hope he stays at PSG because the club are doing their best to make this team the best in the world.
the 30-year-old midfielder relates Mbappe’s situation with his contract situation at Anfield.
Mbappe joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 and since then he has seen great success for club and country winning the World Cup and also reaching the Champions League finals. While the Parisians look to take it a notch even further they have already tied down Neymar with a contract extension and hopes that Mbappe will also follow his senior teammate.
