Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave Juventus in the ongoing summer transfer window, according to Juventus’s vice-president Pavel Nedved. Ronaldo has been the focal point of a lot of transfer speculation lately.
In what a sensational transfer, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined Italian heavyweights Juventus in 2018, after nine illustrious seasons with Real Madrid. The deal cost the Old Lady over €100 million.
The first two seasons in Italy went smoothly for Ronaldo. He scored goals for fun, as his brilliance helped Juventus lift two Serie A titles and two Supercoppa Italiana titles in those years. The last season, however, has not gone according to plans.
While Ronaldo managed to score 36 runs, Juventus had a season to forget, as their streak of nine consecutive Serie A triumphs was brought to an end by rivals Inter Milan. It also marked the departure of the erstwhile manager Andrea Pirlo.
Now with Massimiliano Allegri back in charge, it is being speculated that Ronaldo will be allowed to leave, as he is entering the last year of his contract. There have also been rumours suggesting Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain as potential suitors.
However, Juventus’s vice-president and former player, Pavel Nedved has squashed all rumours. According to Nedved, Ronaldo is all set to be a part of Juventus for the 2021/22 season.
Nedved told Sky Sport Italy, as quoted by Daily Mail.
Ronaldo will return to training on Monday and he will stay with us. Dybala situtation not a problem.
Ronaldo is not the only star player who might walk away on a free transfer next season. Paulo Dybala is also entering the last year of his contract, as clubs have started monitoring his situation.
Nedved, however, was relaxed on being asked about the situation, as he said that the matter will be resolved soon.
Cherubini (Juventus’ director) has already been in contact with his (Paulo Dybala’s) agent, who will arrive in Turin next week. We are in good time to get the situation resolved, it’s not a problem.
