In a serious blow to Juventus’ transfer plans, Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali has confirmed that the club is in advanced negotiations with one from outside Serie A for star player Manuel Locatelli. Arsenal, reportedly, are keen on the player.
Juventus were said to be keen on Locatelli and are due to meet Sassuolo next week, Carnevali confirms. Meanwhile, Carnevali also told the media that he has received offers for Jeremie Boga, Giacomo Raspadori, and Domenico Berardi.
“We will talk about Locatelli when Euro 2020 ends, we want to leave him calm until Sunday. We have received important offers for him, talks with one of which are very well underway,”
“We met with Juve and we made an appointment next week but it is all to be evaluated.”
Carnevali said.
Arsenal are one of the clubs that are keen on signing the Italian, with Mikel Arteta keen on bolstering his midfield. The Gunners are undergoing a major overhaul, especially in the middle of the pitch.
Matteo Guendouzi has left the club for Marseille, and Granit Xhaka is expected to join AS Roma. Dani Ceballos has returned to his parent club Real Madrid, while Lucas Torreira is also thought to be on his way out.
The North London outfit, on the other hand, is close to signing Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht but may need to bring in more bodies to cover the deficiencies. Arsenal are also closing in on the signing of Nuno Tavares from SL Benfica, while a deal is reportedly close to being agreed between them and Brighton over the transfer of Ben White.
