Adding yet another feather to his cap, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam became the fastest batsman to score 2000 T20I runs. He went past Indian captain Virat Kohli after scoring 52 runs in just 46 balls in the series decider against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.
Babar Azam became the fastest cricket player to score 2000 runs in the shortest format of the game breaking the previous record held by Indian skipper Virat Kohli. King Kohli scored 2000 T20I runs in 56 innings whereas Babar took just 52 innings to accomplish the feat.
Baba made the record his own during the third T20 International between Pakistan and Zimbabwe. He scored a magnificent 52 in just 46 balls. The stylish right-hander smashed 4 exquisite boundaries in his entertaining innings. The young gun from Pakistan became only the 11th player to score 2000 runs in the T20 internationals.
The Pakistan Cricket Board congratulated Babar Azam on the achievement on Twitter. The International Cricket Council also congratulated the Pakistan skipper.

Pakistan and Zimbabwe played the deciding match of the T20I series at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. The first T20 International was won by Pakistan by 11 runs while Zimbabwe managed to upset the visitors in the second game by 19 runs.
In the much-anticipated series decider, Babar Azam won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Pakistan registered a competitive total of 165 runs. Mohammad Rizwan continued his dream run with the bat and scored a stunning 91 runs in just 60 balls. He was well supported by Azam who made 52 runs and anchored the innings.
Chasing 166, the hosts started on a positive note as the opening batter Wesley Madhevere smashed a brilliant half-century. However, Hasan Ali’s heroics prevented Zimbabwe from a historic series win. Hasan took four wickets in the game ensuring a 24-run victory and ultimately a series win to Pakistan.
