Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik scored a goal each in Juventus’ 2-0 win over Spezia in front of a home crowd. As such, Massimiliano Allegri’s side bounced back from two drab draws.
Vlahovic, who had scored a sensational free-kick in the Bianconeri’s 1-1 draw versus AS Roma, repeated his heroics at the Allianz Stadium nine minutes after kick-off. That was the Serbian’s fourth goal of the season already, two of which he has scored directly from a set-piece – he currently leads the scoring tables in Italy as well.
Allegri’s men looked rejuvenated after a couple of toothless performances, but their efforts were repelled by a Spezia defence that, at times, looked as if it was hanging into the tie by a thread. Juve did eventually make their advantage count.
Youngster Fabio Miretti spun his marker by the right touchline before arrowing a pass from deep into the feet of Milik. The former Napoli man controlled the ball, spun, and blasted it past Bartlomiej Dragowski for the insurance goal, sealing three points for his new side.
In Naples, Napoli had to settle for a draw for the second consecutive game, putting a stop to their fast start to the season. The Partenopei survived an early scare when Alex Meret saved a spot-kick from young striker Lorenzo Colombo.
They then countered and were rewarded for it when Eljif Elmas tapped the ball into the net from close range for the opening goal of the night.
However, Napoli’s lead lasted just four minutes. Colombo made amends for his earlier miss by scoring a spectacular goal from distance – his first in the Italian top-flight.
Meanwhile, despite flying high after beating Inter Milan the previous weekend, Lazio were pegged back by Sampdoria for a draw. The Biancocelesti took the lead in the 21st minute when Ciro Immobile raced onto a Sergej Milinkovic-Savic flick and finished confidently past Emil Audero.
Manolo Gabbiadini equalized for the hosts in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to ensure the spoils were shared.
