Juventus suspended Paulo Dybala, Weston McKennie until further notice after the trio violated the coronavirus rules and attended a dinner party.
Serie A club Juventus have suspended the trio of Paulo Dybala, Weston McKennie, and Arthur Melo until further notice after the trio attended a dinner party in a neighbourhood in Turin.
Juventus manager addressed the issue in the pre-match press conference ahead of the Turin Derby clash with Torino on Saturday.
The three players concerned have not been selected, they will return to work at a later time, we’ll see about when,
Pirlo said.
This sort of stuff has been going on for years, but when you’re not allowed it shouldn’t happen, both because of what’s going on in the world and what’s happening with the team.
The suspension of the trio due to disciplinary issues adds further to the headache of Andre Pirlo in regards to fielding his strongest playing XI. He will be without his defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Merih Demiral due to positive coronavirus tests.
The dropped trio was fined by the police for attending a dinner party. The party was hosted by US midfielder Weston McKennie’s Turin home. The trio was reported to the cops by the neighbours and then accordingly scrutinized.
Paulo Dybala took to social media and apologised for his actions. He said that he ‘only stayed out for dinner’ and the gathering ‘was not a party’.
Juventus are placed third in the Serie A league standings and will look to push for the second-place. Juventus have been knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by FC Porto and only have the Serie A and the Copa Italia as sources of possible silverware in the current season. Their star forward Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in this Serie A season. The Portuguese already has 23 goals to his name and he will be hungry for more.
