Robert Lewandowski reiterated in a recent media appearance that he has no desire to stay at Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old is angling for a move to FC Barcelona and admitted as much himself.

The Bundesliga champions and their second all-time tops corer Lewandowski are on a collision course after the striker doubled down on his comments about his poor treatment by, and his desire to leave, the club. The Pole hasn’t held back in recent weeks, lamenting the fact that the Bavarians are holding him against his wish.

“I want to leave Bayern Munich, that’s for sure. Loyalty and respect are more important than business but they don’t want to listen to me. I’ve always been at the club’s full disposal, but the best thing is to find a solution together. You can’t decide by going in one direction only.

“Something inside me is dead, I want to go away to have more emotions in my life. Who would want to join Bayern knowing what’s happening to me?”

    he told Onet Sport.

Barcelona are linked with a move for Lewandowski despite their dire financial situation. Reports claim that should the two clubs agree on a transfer fee, the Blaugrana would be willing to pay the Poland international 9 million euros per year to facilitate a move while keeping their budget intact.

Lewandowski, for his part, is open to a switch, admitting that he hasn’t considered any other offer during his search for a new club.

“I have not considered any other offer than that of Barcelona,”

    the player added.

Lewandowski joined Bayern in 2014 from rivals Borussia Dortmund. He has helped the Bavarians win the Bundesliga title each year since – and the UEFA Champions League in 2019/20. In his eight seasons with the club, the Poland international has accumulated 375 appearances and scored 344 goals. Only once – in his first campaign at the Allianz Arena – did the forward score fewer than 40 goals across all competitions.
