Liverpool striker Sadio Mane is expected to depart Anfield this summer, ending a six-year association with the club that brought one Premier League and one Champions League title among others. Bayern Munich are linked with the Senegalese forward.

One of Jurgen Klopp’s first signings at Liverpool, and one of his most trusted forwards, the Senegal international could leave the club this summer. As per The Athletic’s James Pearce, the player will inform the Premier League and Champions League runners-up of his desire to seek a new challenge 12 months before his current deal expires.

With no new contract talks on the horizon, Liverpool are likely to cash in on one of their most prized assets. Bayern Munich are being credited with an interest in the forward at present.

A fee of 30 million euros is touted in the German press, with the Bundesliga champions keen to move forward with a deal. However, The Athletic reports Liverpool would not entertain offers for Mane below the 50 million mark and would ideally want a successor lined up before sanctioning an exit.

As it stands, Liverpool have Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino, and Takumi Minamino, apart from Mane, to fill up the three forward spots. The Reds have signed Fulham’s Fabio Carvalho for the subsequent season but are also bound to lose Divock Origi on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, as per the Daily Mail, Liverpool have slapped a 35 million pounds price tag on the 30-year-old. Bayern are believed to be the frontrunners to win the race for the forward, but he is yet to take a firm decision on his future. Spanish pair Barcelona and Real Madrid, too, were linked with the attacker in the past.

Mane joined Liverpool in 2016 for a 34 million pounds fee from Southampton, despite strong interest from Manchester United. In the six years that followed, he made 269 appearances for the club across all competitions and scored 120 goals, winning the Premier League, the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the EFL Cup, among other pieces of silverware.
