Bayern Munich are hopeful of locking down their winger Serge Gnabry, who has attracted interest from the Premier League lately, to a new long-term contract.

The Munich club is in talks with the Germany international over a contract extension, confirms club CEO Oliver Kahn. Gnabry is reportedly considering his options, at present, while his current contract runs on for another year. Liverpool are among the clubs linked with the 26-year-old recently, as are Real Madrid.

“Serge knows what we as a club ask of him, also in terms of performance. He is in a process of reflection. As soon as things become clearer we will announce it.”

ex-Bayern goalkeeper said, as per Goal.

Since joining the Bayern first-team in 2018 following a loan spell at Hoffenheim, Gnabry developed into a key player for both club and country. He has played 167 games across all competitions for the Bavarians and scored 62 goals; for the German national team, his tally stands at a remarkable 20 from 31.

Serge Gnabry has equalled his best ever scoring season in the Bundesliga:

    ◉ 2019/20: 31 games, 12 goals
    ◉ 2021/22: 30 games, 12 goals

Meanwhile, Bayern do expect to announce the contract extension of Thomas Muller in the coming days. As per reports, the club has reached a total agreement with the player’s representatives over a deal until 2025, and an official line will be released confirming the same soon. Should the attacker complete the tenure of his new reported contract, he would have remained at Bayern for 17 years.

Furthermore, the reigning Bundesliga champions are also close to extending the contract of goalkeeper and captain Manuel Neuer. He, too, will soon sign a deal until 2025 with the announcement only delayed by the smaller details. Neuer’s extension will take his stay at the Allianz Arena to 14 years; he signed for the German champions from Schalke 04 back in 2011 and has made 470 appearances so far.

Finally, Bayern are also moving forward with their plans to bring in Noussair Mazraoui and Ryan Gravenberch from AFC Ajax this summer. The former, if things go to plan, will sign for the Bavarians on a free transfer, while the club will be paying a small fee for the latter.
