On January 30, The Pro Kabaddi League season 8 witnessed a double-header after quite a while. In the first game of the night, Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Patna Pirates 30-51, who suffered their second loss against JPP this season. The last time they tool on each other, the Panthers beat the Pirates by 38-28.
The game between the Pirates and the Panthers looked like a game between amateurs and professionals. Patna’s defence was in complete disarray as it never got going in the match at all.
Patna couldn’t get a single tackle point in the first half. In fact, it was only Sunil who managed three tackle points for them in the whole match. The rest of the defence just couldn’t do anything.
Arjun never quits! 🙌🏼🔥

A remarkable 4-point super raid from Arjun Deshwal against the Pirates that made us go 🤯 was our Moment of the Day! 💥#SuperhitPanga #VIVOProKabaddi #PATvJPP @JaipurPanthers pic.twitter.com/frRQ78UjiD
On the raiding front, Sachin and Monu got seven raid points each but it was just not enough for the day.
Jaipur Pink Panthers, after coming from a huge defeat, once again played like a completely different team against the Pirates as Arjun Deswal completed yet another Super 10, scoring a total of 17 raid points. He was beautifully supported by Deepak Hooda with eight points. In defence, captain Sandeep Dhull and Vishal both registered High 5s.
Patna Pirates, despite this loss, are placed comfortably at the third position, while the Panthers are still looking to move to the top six as they have 40 points from 14 games.
The second game of the night was also as one-sided as the first one. The Tamil Thailavas, who were comprehensively beaten in their last game by the Patna Pirates, played like a team on a mission as they beat their southern neighbours 42-24.
The Bulls defence never got going, just like the Pirates defence in the first game, as it could manage only six tackle points in the whole game as compared to the Thailavas’ 17.
In the raiding department, both teams scored 17 raid points each, with Ajinkya Pawar scoring a Super 10 for the Thailavas. He was supported by Manjeet, who scored seven raid points.
For the Bulls, Pawan Kumar Sherawat led the raiding department yet again with nine raid points. But his performance went in vain as the Bulls lost by a margin of 24 points.
The Bulls are still at the top of the table after 16 games, but they would be wary of other teams overtaking them as all other teams have played fewer games as compared to the Bulls.
