The Haryana Steelers stole a game away from the UP Yoddhas in the buzzer raid of the game to register a 36-35 victory.
Yoddhas had won a similar game earlier in the season against the Patna Pirates, when in the buzzer raid, Surinder Gill, despite getting out, scored a crucial bonus point which proved sufficient for UP to win the game.
In the match against Steelers, though, Pardeep Narwal seemed to have gone through a brain fade moment as he did not try to score a point in his last raid. But Steelers’ Vinay had other ideas as he scored a bonus point in the last raid of the game and won the game for Haryana.
Haryana’s defence played exceptionally well as Jaideep completed his High 5 along with Mohit. For UP, it was Shrikant Jhadav who kept them in the hunt as he scored a Super 10.
With this win, the Haryana Steelers are now placed at the fifth position while the Yoddhas are at the fourth spot, both on 39 points. Yoddhas are fourth because of their better score difference.
The Bengaluru Bulls, meanwhile, beat Telugu Titans by 36-31 here on Sunday in the second game of the night.
The Titans could never really match Bulls pace in the game as Pawan Kumar Sherawat completed his yet another super 10 in the season in the first half itself.
At the end of the first half the Bulls were leading the Titans by 11 points, 22-11. The Titans tried their best to make a comeback in the second half, but the Bulls defence didn’t let them down as Sourabh Nandal and Aman scored four tackle points each in the game.
For Titans, Ankit Beniwal displayed an all-around game, but it was not sufficient at the end of the day because he didn’t receive much support from his teammates.
The season six-time champions Bengaluru Bulls are at the top of the table while the Titans are 12th.
