Bengaluru Bulls won their last two games comprehensively against Dabang Delhi and Gujarat Giants. The main architect of those two wins was Pawan Kumar Sherawat, who scored a combined 46 raid points in those two games.
Pawan scored 27 raid points against DDKC, the most by any raider in a single game this season. He followed it up with 19 against the Giants.
Bulls challenge this season has been that they are heavily dependent on Pawan in the raiding department. This is evident in the fact that despite their massive wins against Delhi and Gujarat, no other raider got more than six raid points for the Bulls.
Chandran Ranjit has not turned up as per expectations as he hasn’t been able to support Pawan as much as the Bulls coach Sherawat would have liked.
This could be the reason why he was all ecstatic and heaped praise for Bharat after Bulls win against the Gujarat Giants.
According to Randhir Sherawat, Bharat ably supported Pawan. In an interaction with the media after the game, he had said:
“Bharat is good. He scored two tackle points and also scored raids at key moments. Now you won’t get a chance to say the team is completely dependent on Pawan.
He’s not alone at all. Everyone has a chance in this team. I’m very pleased with Bharat’s performance.”
But in the very next game against the Pirates, Bulls heavy dependency on Pawan was on full display. As Pawan got to his super 10 in a real quick time, the other Bulls raider didn’t provide much support.
Twice in the game after Pawan was tackled, he couldn’t be revived by his teammates, and the Bulls got all out twice. This, in the end, proved to be the decisive factor as Bulls lost their third game of the season.
