In yet another action-packed evening of the Pro Kabaddi League, the Haryana Steelers played out a thrilling draw against UP Yoddha whereas the Bengaluru Bulls completely humiliated Dabang Delhi .
The first match of the evening between the Haryana Steelers and UP Yoddha turned out to be a nail-biting contest as the two teams matched each other in every blow throughout the 40 minutes. The Steelers rode on Vikash Khandola’s assault to destroy the Yoddha defence. He scored 17 points in total, 14 of which were raid points. He was supported well by Meetu, who scored six points.
The Yoddha, in response, had an equally good offensive system centred around Surender Gill, who scored 14 points. Fan favourite Pardeep Narwal scored six raid points as well before being substituted out. Shrikant Jadhav also provided good support in raids with 5 points to his name.
Both sides didn’t have to show much in defence as the raiders dominated the show completely, with the match ending in a 36-36 stalemate.
Dabang Delhi suffer second successive defeat
While the first game of the evening turned out to be a thriller, the second match was a completely one-sided contest as the Bengaluru Bulls crushed Dabang Delhi by a massive 61-22 scoreline.
It also turned out to be the biggest loss for Dabang Delhi in PKL history. Delhi went into this game without their star raider Naveen Kumar, and as a result, the other players couldn’t do much. Apart from Ashu Malik’s six points and Vijay Malik’s four, there wasn’t much to look at in the Delhi scoresheet.
The Delhi defence was completely destroyed by Bulls raider Pawan Kumar, who scored a total of 27 points from 22 raids. Bharat also did well, scoring seven points from three raids.
The Bulls defence also stood like a rock as all of Chandran Ranjit, Saurabh Nandal, Mahender Singh, and Aman scored a minimum of three points each. With this win the Bulls rose up to the second position in the table, with Delhi dropping down to third.
