The defending champions Bengal Warriors took on Haryana Steelers in a high-scoring fixture as the latter emerged victorious 37-41. Both teams showed exceptional efforts in offense, with Maninder Singh picking up fourteen points for his side.
Despite a great performance from Singh and Mohammad Nabibaksh, the reigning Pro Kabaddi League champs had to suffer their fourth loss of the season. Bengal gave their all in the game but failed to subdue the duo of Meetu Mahender and Vikash Kandola, who together racked up nineteen points to take their side over the finish line.
Both teams relied on their offensive players to score the bulk of points in the game, but Haryana was able to edge past their opponents with a coordinated performance from Surinder Nada and Mohit, who picked up seven tackle points in total.
The Warriors have been off the track in their last few games. Despite a good performance by their players, the team hasn’t been able to convert the performances into wins, both Maninder and Nabibaksh have been performing to their best, but the other members of the team will have to step up if the team wants to go further into the league.
Jaipur Pink Panthers get back on winning track with win over struggling Puneri Paltan
JPP went head-to-head against the Puneri Paltan in the second game of day seventeen as both teams struggled for control of the game. The Panthers grabbed the initial control in the game and didn’t look back after the moment.
Arjun Deshwal has been spectacular for the inaugural champions and he proved his worth once again, racking up eleven points for his side, he received perfect support from his defenders in the game as both Shaul Kumar and Sandeep Dhull picked up four points each at the end of the final whistle.
Puneri Paltan will be utterly disappointed with their performance as none of their players – except Aslam Inamdar – were able to cross the five-point mark against the Pink Panthers.
Coach Anup Kumar was visibly upset with his team and even urged them to try to show their game if they cannot win the game during timeouts.
Puneri Paltan are at the bottom of the points table with just ten points to their name and will have to win a string of upcoming games if they wish to keep their hopes for playoffs alive, else they could be the first team to get knocked out from the race to the playoffs this season.
