U Mumba and the Steelers tied 24-24 in Match 32 of the PKL in Bengaluru’s Sheraton Grand. The Mumbai defence dominated the raiders in a low-scoring match where Fazel Atrachali bagged four points.
Haryana Steelers will be cursing themselves as they allowed Abhishek Singh to level the scores during the final whistle. Despite the Steelers’ defensive struggles, Rohit Gulia earned eight points to help his side stay alive in the contest.
Despite the presence of top-class raiders in both teams’ lineups, the’ raiders were pretty much scoreless during the first half. Haryana’s Vikash Kandola U Mumba’s raider Abhishek fail to pick points against strong defenders.
U Mumba’s defender Rinku demonstrated an impressive thigh hold to pick the first point of the game. Soon after, Fazel joined the fray and was all over the raiders.
Both sides gave their all but it was U Mumba’s Abhisekh Singh who avoided the crucial all-out for his team keeping them in the game and making sure that the Steelers didn’t create a lead over his side.
Thalaivas upset UP Yoddha to grab their 2nd win in PKL8
Tamil Thalaivas emerged victorious over the Uttar Pradesh-based club in a thriller as the South Indian franchise dominated their opponents defensively keeping them at arm’s length throughout the game. Despite a great performance from Surinder Gill, who picked up fourteen points, the UP Yoddha failed to capitalize on the raider’s momentum.
Meanwhile, the Thalaivas had a great team effort, with every player picking up points for the team. Sagar was lethal against the UP Yoddha raiders’ picking up his high five in the game. He was supported by skipper Surjeet Singh who picked up three points in defence.
The Yoddha will have to get out of the current scenario as the star-packed team is currently at eighth position in the table with just fourteen points, winning just one game in their six fixtures.
The only silver lining for the franchise came via Pardeep Narwal as he became the first player in PKL history to complete 1200 points.
