Puneri Paltan are currently going through a very hard phase in Pro Kabaddi League 8, as none of the players have been able to produce a remarkable performance so far into the season. The team has lost four of their five fixtures and is at the bottom of the points table.
The team’s coach/mentor Anup Kumar spoke to the press after they faced defeat at the hands of Bengaluru Bulls, where he talked about the performance of his team, the mentality at the camp, and his reasons for dropping star man Rahul Chaudhari.
“There was so big reason behind me dropping Rahul, it was a completely tactical change, we wanted to try out the players to see if we can find some combinations. That’s all, there’s no big reason, it’s just we needed some changes in our tactics!”
It would be an understatement to say that Rahul Chaudhari had a disappointing season so far into the league. The player hasn’t been able to find any momentum and has not scored even a single super ten, five games into the season. The Puneri Paltan management will have to find ways to get out of the scenario, or their hopes to qualify for the playoffs will go up in smoke.
“Chandran Ranjit has been a great supportive raider for Pawan Sehrawat!”
Bengaluru Bulls are winning track after a slow start to the league. Pawan Sehrawat was once again the star man for the Bulls in their victory against PP. After scoring just one point in the first half, the Bulls skipper found his groove back in the second half, pulling the game away from the opposition.
After the game, Randhir Sehrawat spoke on the performance against the Puneri Paltan and talked about the team’s defensive display and other raiders stepping up their game.
“When it comes to performance, Pawan has always been at his peak, there is no bad day for my boy, and Chandran Ranjit is a very good raider, he has been picking up like six, seven, nine, six points in the last few games.
He has been supporting Pawan well, and we can expect a lot more from him.”
While Randhir Sehrawat didn’t shy away from complimenting his star pupil Pawan, he also added that the Bulls defence was a little too afraid to tackle the Paltan raiders early in the contest, and he made sure that the team made attempts, even if they were unsuccessful.
