The eighth season of the Pro Kabaddi League started off with a bang as U Mumba locked horns against season 6 champions, Bengaluru Bulls. U Mumba will be very happy with their performance tonight as they stunned Bengaluru Bulls in a 46-30 victory.
Abhisekh Singh emerged as the star for U Mumba in the season opener as he racked up nineteen points for his side leading them to victory. The Bulls will be disappointed with their performance tonight as their defence made too many that cost them the match.
BB skipper Pawan Sehrawat managed to get twelve points for his side but failed to get into his groove despite the super 10. U Mumba got the better of the high-flyer seven times in the game, which was the biggest aspect of the game.
Chandran Ranjit was the workhorse for the Bulls as he took up the responsibilities for raids in the absence of Pawan, who spent a lot of time waiting for revivals. Ranjit accumulated thirteen points for his side but was unable to take his side across the finish line.
Telugu Titans and Tamil Thalaivas fight to a standstill in a 40-40 nail-biting draw
Tamil Thalivas and Telugu Titans faced off in the South Indian derby, where the Titans led by Siddharth Desai were able to get a draw against their opponents in a nail-biting finish.
Telugu Titans were trailing by two points at the end of the second half but managed to squeak past the the Thalaivas in the closing moments of the game to get a draw to close the game.
Siddharth Desai and Manjeet were the strike raiders for their teams both scoring a super ten in this game.
Bengal Warrior get a thumping win over UP Yoddha
Defending champions BW got to a flying start in the Pro Kabaddi League as they defeated the fan favorites in UP Yoddha 38-33 to register their first win of the season.
Esmaeil Nabibaksh and Sukesh Hegde were the ace players for Bengal Warriors, as the two of them constantly got points in their side while raiding. UP Yoddha, on the other hand, will be a tad worried after star raider Pardeep Narwal failed to perform up to his standards and could register just 8 points tonight.
U Mumba and Bengal Warriors will be definitely happy with their wins tonight as they have got the best possible start to the tournament and will hope to continue their form in their upcoming games.
