In a league filled with star raiders such as Pradeep Narwal, Siddharth Desai, Deepak Niwas Hooda, and Praveen Kumar, no one has shined as bright as Pawan Sehrawat.
The Bengaluru Bulls star raider has the highest raid points in seasons 6 and 7, being named the MVP in the process. Pawan will be in action soon when the Bulls go up against U Mumba in the season opener on 22nd December.
Pawan has been electric in the last two seasons, breaking multiple records in the process. The Bengaluru Bulls talisman claimed 39 points in a single game against Haryana Steelers, smashing the record for the most points in a single match.
After a long two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the raider is roaring to go and believes that he will cause a lot of trouble for the opposition in the upcoming season. In an interview with Hindustan Times, the player discussed the upcoming season, his new teammates, and rivalries.
“I will miss him, but we are ready to face each other as opponents in a healthy competition!” says Pawan Sehrawat
The 2021 Pro Kabaddi League auction saw multiple names switch sides, and one such name was Rohit Kumar. The ex-Bengaluru Bulls captain will now don the jersey of Telugu Titans this season.
Pawan Sehrawat, who has been great friends with Rohit, talked about the switch and his feelings about facing Rohit as a rival for the league title.
“Rohit is a senior player and a good friend; I will definitely miss raiding alongside him. But we are ready to face each other as opponents as well, in healthy competition!”
Pawan will have to find his synergy alongside his new teammates Abolfazl Mahali, Chandran Ranjit, and Deepak Narwal who have joined the Bengaluru Bulls camp this season. The raider seems excited about playing alongside his new teammates and hopes that they can do well this season.
“The coach and management have taken efforts to ensure that we come together as a team and face our opponents. We are friends and the team is close-knit, this will be seen on the mat as well!”
Pawan is ready for action starting 22nd December and the Bengaluru Bulls fans will hope that the star player continues where he left off in season 7.
