The latest transfer rumblings from Italy speak of the Milanese pair’s intentions to dip into the market in the coming months for two distinct yet equally exciting talents. Meanwhile, a similarly talented individual – Dusan Vlahovic – is expected to reject Arsenal.
Inter Milan have turned to Ajax star Andre Onana to replace the aging Samir Handanovic – when the time comes. As per Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri will try to sign the Cameroonian international on a free transfer next summer, as his contract with the Amsterdam club expires on June 30, 2022.
Onana only recently returned to training after serving a nine months-long ban – shortened from 12 – for doping violations. Before his ban, the Cameroon international was the first choice custodian for Ajax and played a key role in the team’s run to the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Brest attacker Romain Faivre has hinted at an impending move to AC Milan in the upcoming transfer window. Milan chased the Frenchman during the summer, but they were unable to get a deal over the line before the window slammed shut.
“When Maldini, a legend, calls you, you feel valued and you want to do everything you can to go to Milan. It makes me really happy. All in all, everything is in place for it to work out.”
the 21-year-old said.
Faivre has four goals and four assists to his name in 12 league appearances this season; he is two goals and an assist away from surpassing last season’s tally.
While Onana and Faivre might yet arrive in Italy, one player who could be on his way out is Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker has already snubbed his club’s advances to tie him down to a new deal and could be sold in the coming months.
Arsenal were recently linked with a move for Vlahovic, with reports claiming that the Gunners have an agreement in principle with Fiorentina for a deal worth 80 million euros. However, it is being reported that the player himself has no interest in moving to Arsenal and could be holding out for a move to a bigger club.
Vlahovic was linked with moves to Atletico Madrid and Tottenham in the summer, while Juventus are also said to be keen on the forward.
