A dreadful week continues for Chelsea with three youngsters linked with Premier League moves. Among them is Lewis Bate, who has caught the attention of ‘Big Six’ rivals Liverpool.
Following the permanent departures of Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi, Chelsea are expected to lose three further academy stars. The Blues’ 2020/21 Academy Player of the Year Valentino Livramento is said to be on his way out, alongside Lewis Bate and Myles Peart-Harris. Bate, especially, has a list of clubs chasing after his signature, with Liverpool thought to be among those interested.
Goal’s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella flagged up Liverpool’s interest in Bate recently. However, Kinsella reports that the player is unlikely to join Jurgen Klopp’s team due to fears over the lack of playing time. Bate wants to leave Chelsea because of the same reasons and is likely to join a team where the pathway to the first team is much clearer.
The Athletic’s Simon Johnson reports that Leeds United and West Ham United are among favorites to sign Bate, while Leicester City, Liverpool, and Brighton hold an interest.
Peart-Harris, meanwhile, is close to moving to Chelsea’s neighbours Brentford. Peart-Harris scored 18 goals and made 11 assists in 45 appearances last season, often playing as the attacking midfielder. He is reported to have already bid his farewells to clubmates.
The future of Livramento isn’t as clear as his peers, although he too is likely to leave Chelsea this summer. The Athletic reports that Southampton and Brighton are among the clubs on his trail. Both clubs have looked at the Chelsea academy in the past for their recruitment.
Southampton signed Ryan Bertrand and Oriol Romeu following their departures from Chelsea, while Brighton swooped in to buy Tariq Lamptey last year.
