The club are holding talks over contract extensions with Loen Goretzka and Kingsley Coman. According to Bayern’s new chief executive, Oliver Kahn, things are going on smoothly. Both have been linked with Manchester United in the past.
Bayern are on the verge of starting a transition period as Julian Nagelsmann takes charge of the reign. While Hansi Flick’s glorious stint at the club will remain the benchmark, the former RB Leipzig coach will also look to do his best at the Allianz Arena. It was a significant decision from the Bayern management and now whether it is right or wrong remains to be seen.
Both Leon Goretzka and Kingsley Coman have been in action in the Euros for Germany and France, respectively. But with both sides getting knocked out, talks regarding their contract extensions have begun in full flow.
“We are in very, very good talks with both players, and I’m very optimistic,”
“We have a great package to offer; you always have the chance to win big titles with us, and to help shape an era. Both are very, very important players, absolute top players.”
the new chief executive officer told a press conference at his introduction as Karl-Heinz Rummenigge’s successor on Monday.
Former Bayern and Germany goalkeeper assured that a move like David Alaba might not happen here. He also added how top players are always seeking a higher salary deal.
“Top players want to get accordingly paid,”
“We’ve not naive about that, that’s perfectly fine. We have a clearly defined limit [when it comes to spending on contracts].”
he added.
Bayern were all over the place when Nico Kovac was sacked. But the management trusted assistant coach Flick. It was new dawn at the club as Flick started getting them back to shape. Results showed great improvement while the dressing room was also very happy with their new manager. Flick was given a permanent role from being an interim manager. He guided the club to unparalleled success as they clinched the Champions League and won the treble.
The Bavarians now are looking beyond Flick who has now joined the German national team as their head coach, replacing Joachim Low. Hence the club has now passed the baton to the young and dynamic Nagelsmann to take Bayern forward. The club wants Nagelsmann to dominate Europe and continue the stronghold which they showed under Flick’s reign. The former RB Leipzig man is a childhood Bayern Munchen fan and that makes the whole thing all the more special.
