Antoine Griezmann expresses his wish to play in the Major League Soccer after finishing his current stint with the Catalans. The French international said last year that playing in the Major Soccer League is one of his career objectives which he wishes to achieve.
The 30-year-old was asked if he wants to move to the MLS after three years, he told Le Figaro,
“I still have three years to go. I have to pay attention to my body, because at any time it can change. My contract with Barcelona runs until June 2024 and after that, I think it will be the right time to go to the United States”.
The 30-year-old cherishes life and culture in the US. He is also an avid follower of the NBA, and hence being in the country will allow him to catch more matches live. He also wants to move there in good shape so that he can win the MLS and not just play there for its sake.
He was Barcelona’s second-highest scorer last season, only behind Lionel Messi. He registered 13 goals for the Catalans in La Liga while scoring twice in the Champions League and thrice in the Copa del Rey. He netted in the final of the Copa del Rey as Ronald Koeman’s men thumped Athletic Bilbao 4-0, winning the only trophy of last season.
Griezmann is also a regular starter for Didier Deschamps’ France as he aims to guide Les Blues to the Euros title. The French team is full of star players all across the pitch and are rightfully considered as one of the favourites to win the Euros. They started with a win against Germany but then faltered their way against Hungary and only managed a draw. Next up, they will face Portugal in the final group stage clash.
