Afghanistan wrist-spinner is set for a busy summer as he has decided to fly immediately to the UK for Sussex’s T20 Blast campaign after taking part in Lahore Qalandars’ sojourn for the rescheduled Pakistan Super League 2021 in June.
In February, Rashid two games for Qalandars before leaving to fulfil international commitments against Zimbabwe. He wasn’t initially expected to play the rescheduled season of PSL 2021, having signed up to play for Sussex in the T20 Blast.
However, the 22-year-old has now arrived at a common ground t play for both teams without any rest. The PSL 2021 resumes on June 1, whilst the T20 Blast begins on June 9. Sussex have confirmed that Rashid will be travelling directly to the United Kingdom.
“I am really looking forward to joining up with my teammates at Sussex upon completion of the PSL,”
“Whilst the travel restrictions in place have been a big factor in delaying my arrival, it is fortunate I am still able to play some high-level cricket before heading to Hove later in June.”
Rashid said in a media release by the prominent club.
Khan also stated he is “excited” to resume playing for the Qalandars and contribute to their success in spin-friendly conditions in UAE.
“I am excited to be back with PSL and Lahore Qalandars.
I had a couple of good games with them earlier and the team went off to a good start, I am hopeful to help them continue with the momentum,”
he said in a media release issued by the PSL franchise.
