On May 22, Zimbabwe cricketer Ryan Burl took to Twitter and posted a picture of his torn shoes to ask for sponsorship for this national team. His needs were met within 24 hours when Puma agreed to cover for him.
This left cricketing fans all over the world heartbroken, with quite a few reactions showing concern for the state of affairs in the nation’s cricket team.
However, hours later, sports brand Puma Cricket came to the rescue and asked Ryan to take the glue away. Another happy news followed when Ryan announced that he will be joining the Puma Cricket Team. He also thanked the fans all over the world who showed support and made this happen within just 24 hours.
The Zimbabwean southpaw last represented his national side in a T20I against Pakistan on April 25 2021. He has played 46 matches for his country at the international level. He is an aggressive middle-order batsman and a part-time leg spinner with 660 runs and 26 wickets to his name. He is yet to reach his prime and will hope to improve in the coming seasons.
Zimbabwe travel to Ireland next, where they will play a three-match ODI series followed by a three-match T20I series which starts on August 6. It will serve as preparation for the T20 World Cup coming up in India later this year.
