According to reports, the England cricket team will travel to Pakistan for a Test series next year. Fawad Chaudhary, the Federal Information Minister of Pakistan, confirmed the reports. This series might prove to be a game-changer for Pakistan Cricket.

Recent media reports hinted towards positive news for Pakistan Cricket. Fawad Chaudhry confirmed the reports, which state that the England cricket team will tour Pakistan for a Test series.

He claimed in his tweet that he is elated that the England cricket team will tour Pakistan after a gap of as many as 16 years. He also revealed that the England team will come to Pakistan in October this year.

Talking about the terror attack which impacted Pakistan cricket immensely, Chaudhry added that Pakistan has come a long way from the devastating attack that took place on the Sri Lankan side when they toured Pakistan in 2009.

“Lovely meeting my friend Christian Turner. Extremely delighted to know that after the gap of sixteen years, October this year English Cricket Team will be visiting Pak and next year again for a full Test series, we have come a long way from the devastating attack on SL team,”

    tweeted Chaudhary.

Moreover, the Pakistan Cricket Board earlier confirmed that the England cricket team will tour Pakistan in October 2021, and the sides will play a couple of T20Is on 14th and 15th October. England and Pakistan will then come to India for the ICC T20 World Cup, which is set to take place later this year.

The last time England toured Pakistan was in the year 2005 when both sides were involved in a three-match Test series and a five-match ODI series. Pakistan had emerged victorious in both series.

Pakistan and England last played against each other in an international match on 9th September 2020 at Old Trafford. Pakistan again defeated the Eoin Morgan-led side by a margin of 5 runs.

With the T20 World Cup in sight, both international sides will utilize these games to test their bench strength. Moreover, the Test series next year will really boost the cricketing scenario in Pakistan.
