Atalanta youngster Rasmus Hojlund is reportedly under consideration by Premier League giants Manchester United after the club was astounded by his rapid growth this year.
The 20-year-old paid has paid back the trust that the club had in him, after the Italians invested £15 million when he moved from Sturm Graz to the Serie A club last summer. Hojlund has scored eight times in 23 games so far across all competitions. The Danish striker has made a cracking start to his career at the international level, scoring a tremendous hat-trick against Finland in the qualifier for the European Championships.
Erik Ten Hag is currently set on recruiting a centre-forward in the summer transfer window, and has reportedly shortlisted prolific Tottenham goalscorer Harry Kane and Napoli’s superstar Victor Osimhen. Both deals will set the 20-time English champions back at least a 100 million, a sum which the club is believed to be willing to spend.
Such being the case, it is also being mentioned that United will also be looking to replace Anthony Martial, who is expected to leave the club in the summer. Hojlund is one of the players currently being considered by the Red Devils to fill in for the Frenchman.
The Danish star is not expected to be a starting option should he move to Old Trafford, but will supposedly get adequate playing time. He will definitely not get the same amount of playing time that he is now getting under Gian Piero Gasperinin, but the player is believed to be excited at the prospect of such a big move. The striker is expected to set the Red Devils back around €22-30 million, although the deal is not in the advanced stages as of yet.
The striker had earlier also admitted to being a long time fan of United, adding that it would be a dream move for him to move to the Prmeier League giants. With the loan deal involving Dutch striker Wout Weghorst not having a buy option clause, Hojlund could move to Old Trafford.
