The defending Indian Super League champions completed the loan signing of defender Keisham Reagan Singh from Chennaiyin FC on August 31. The player has 105 ISL appearances to his name, having played for NorthEast United and Chennaiyin FC, in addition to 48 I-League appearances.
Reagan began his professional career in Meghalaya with Royal Wahingdoh. In 2015, he made his Super League debut for NorthEast United. The player’s most productive season was the 2018-19 one when his pivotal role helped his team’s progress to the semi-finals. Reagan left the Highlanders after five seasons to join Chennaiyin in time for the upcoming Hero ISL season in 2020-21.
“I am really happy to join Hyderabad FC and to train under coach Monolo is an honour. I think he is the best coach in the country and this is a great challenge for me. I look forward to working and learning as a team and can’t wait to get started,”
the 31-year-old said after completing his move.
The 31-year-old defender joins Manolo Marquez’s side on loan until the end of the 2022-23 season and has already joined Manipur’s first team. After winning the ISL title, Hyderabad FC is also doing well in the ongoing Durand Cup. They have already advanced to the knockout stages with a perfect record in Group C.
On Tuesday, Hyderabad defeated NEROCA 3-0 in Group C of the tournament, confirming their place in the quarterfinals. On September 3, they will face Army Red in their final group stage match.
Earlier this summer, Hyderabad have added some top players to their squad for the upcoming ISL 2022-23 season. Odei Onaindia returned to the club this summer, and the club also signed former Las Palmas and Albacete winger Borja Herrera.
Among the domestic players, Hyderabad strengthened their defence with the additions of I-League champion defender Alex Saji, Manoj Mohammad, and Santosh Trophy winner Soyal Joshy from Kerala. Reagan’s addition as an experienced defender strengthens their defence even more.
