FC Barcelona have been working on a lot of signings recently. One of those, Bayern Muncih striker Robert Lewandowski, has been linked to the club for months now and he has also open spoken about his desire to move to Camp Nou. Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently confirmed that the club had made an official offer to the Bavarians.
The Barcelona-Lewandowski transfer saga has been one of the defining stories of the transfer window with the Polish striker making no secret of his desire to join the Catalan club. One of the best goalscorers in the world, Lewandowski, is looking for a new challenge at the age of 33 and wants to leave with just one year remaining on his contract with Bayern.
Not only has he been hesitant to extend his future with the Munich side, in fact, his relationship with the Bavarian club seems non-existent at the moment as they have publicly stopped him from making the move to Camp Nou. However, both Barcelona and Bayern want to resolve this quickly.
“We have made an offer for the player and we are waiting for a response.”
“We thank the player for showing an interest in our club,”
said Laporta during the presenation of former Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen, as per Football Espana.
It is believed that the Blaugrana’s first two offers – 32 million euros and five million in add-ons as well as 35 million and eight in add-ons – have both been rejected and that the club have sent their final offer to Munich, which is in the range of 40 million fixed and another 10 in add-ons.
Sources close to Bayern Munich have revealed that the club are now softening their stance, and this latest package of around 50 million should be enough to convince them to let go of a player who doesn’t want to stay and will depart for free next year.

Lewandowski will be a massive addition to the Barcelona frontline, which has been hamstrung following the departure of Lionel Messi last summer. The Poland international has scored 312 goals in 384 Bundesliga matches for Bayern and former club Borussia Dortmund. He also hit the mark of 35 goals in 34 appearances last season to become the Bundesliga’s top scorer for the fifth season in a row and the seventh time overall.
