Premier League leaders Manchester City are edging closer to the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland. As per reliable transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, the club has prepared a package totaling almost 300 million euros over five years to present to Haaland and his camp, which includes his salary, release clause, and representatives’ fee.
As per the report, the club will trigger Haaland’s 75 million euros-worth release clause, thus freeing him from his Dortmund contract. On top of that, City are prepared to pay 70 million in commissions to the youngster’s representatives, believed to be agent Mino Raiola and his father, Alf-Inge.
Finally, the forward will be presented a 30 million-a-year salary for the first five years of his contract, which would rank him among the highest earners in the Premier League.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with the Norway international in the past, but the Citizens are reportedly in the upcoming summer transfer window.
While Barcelona are having to work with limited financial possibilities, Los Blancos are focused on signing their long-term target Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this summer.

Premier League pair Manchester United and Chelsea were also rumoured to be interested in signing Haaland in the past, but the links have gone quiet on that front; United have signed Cristiano Ronaldo since the links first emerged, while Chelsea brought in Romelu Lukaku.
As a result, Manchester City have a free run at the player, one who has maintained an incredible almost one goal per game ratio since moving to Germany two-and-a-half years ago. The wonder kid has scored 80 goals in his 84 appearances across all tournaments to date – 15 of which have come in 13 UEFA Champions League games.
