The match between Bengal Warriors and Tamil Thailavas were inconsequential as far as the race to the playoffs is concerned. Both the sides are already out of contention for a place in the playoffs.
Nevertheless, for the defending champions, it was about showing their class. They lacked complete team performance in the tournament, which cost them several close games. But against the Thailavas, they were at their absolute best as they claimed a 52-21 victory.
Maninder Singh and Nabibaksh scored Super 10s, while both the corners, Abozar and Ran Singh, managed six and four tackle points, respectively.
The Thailavas looked completely out of sorts as neither their defence nor their offence had a good day. Sagar, the best defender of the tournament so far, has had a couple of bad games now as he could contribute only 2 tackle points. Captain Surjeet Singh could not manage a single tackle point either.
The lacklustre performance of the Thailavas meant that they were given four all-outs in the game. They just couldn’t recover from these and lost the game by a huge margin. Despite the win, the Warriors are in the 10th spot while TT are at the 11th position.
Telugu Titans are already out of the race for the playoffs, but Jaipur Pink Panthers are still very much in contention for a spot in the top six. As such, the Titans had a chance to spoil the Panthers party and win their second game of the season.
But Arjun Deswal has other ideas as he scored yet another Super 10 to secure a big win for his side. He was supported by captain Sandeep Dhull who finished with a High 5.
For the Titans, Galla Raju scored eight raid points, and Surinder Singh got three tackle points, but those were not enough to provide enough fight against a brilliant game displayed by the Panthers.
Pink Panthers managed three all-outs, all though the Titans also gave one, it proved to be not enough to close the gap between the two sides.
The win has propelled the Panthers to the fifth position on the points table, and they are now in touching distance of a playoff spot.
