In what was yet another exciting day at the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League season 8, Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Dabang Delhi 36-30, while the Telugu Titans lost to Tamil Thalaivas by a massive margin of 18 points.
The Panthers came into the game against Delhi with a lot of confidence as they had beaten Patna Pirates by a huge margin of 21 points in their last game. The confidence of the Panthers was on full display as they beat the table leaders quite comfortably in the end.
Deepak Hooda, the most experienced player for the Panthers, led from the front as he scored a Super 10. He got full support from Arjun Deswal, who scored six raid points.
In defence, both the corners of the Panthers, Sandeep Dhull and Sahul Kumar, scored three tackle points each.
For Dabang Delhi, Naveen Kumar made a comeback, but he was substantial after three empty raids. He didn’t look like he was fully fit for the game.
Vijay, henceforth, took the onus of raiding on himself as he brought 16 raid points. He didn’t get any support from any other raiders. Delhi’s defensive line did not fire as well, as Joginder Narwal, Manjeet Chillar and Sandeep Narwal could only manage four tackle points in total.
This win sees Jaipur Pink Panthers rise to the fourth spot while Delhi still sit at the top.
It won’t be wrong to say that the Telugu Titans have been the most below-par team of this season. They lost their 11th game of the season on Thursday to continue languishing at the bottom of the table. The margin of the defeat was 43-25.
No one really stepped up for the Titans as both their offence and defence found it tough going. The most successful player for the Titans was Galla Raju, who scored seven raid points and two tackle points.
Adarsh T could only manage four raid points, while Rohit Kumar, the Titans captain, could only get two raid points.
Thailavas’ defence and offence both were on fire. Manjeet got nine raid points, and Ajinkya Pawar scored a Super 10. Sagar, the league’s best defender so far, earned nine tackle points.
Thailavas are now at fifth position, while Titans sit bottom of the PKL8 table.
