Dabangg Delhi KC won 36-30 in their most recent match against U Mumba as senior defender Manjeet Chillar scored crucial four tackle points. At the same time, the raiders stepped up in the absence of star performer Naveen Kumar.
Coach Krishan Singh Hooda was all praise for the young raider Neeraj Narwal, who scored six raid points after coming in as a substitute. Neeraj is the son of Joginder Narwal, who also plays for Dabang Delhi.
“Neeraj did outstandingly well, you saw how well he played, he brought 6-7 raid points at crucial times in the game, I knew he would do well that’s why I substituted him.
He has done well in the past as well whenever he got the opportunity, we knew he had the calibre to do well, that is why we have shown faith in him and he did well today.
The more he plays, the more confident he will get as a player. I have full confidence in him that in the upcoming matches he will perform even better,”
Hooda was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
Hooda also gave an update on Naveen Kumar’s injury, stating that there is a 99 per cent probability of him playing against the Jaipur Pink Panthers on February 3. The coach added that Naveen wanted to feature against U Mumba, but the team did not want to take any chances.
Vijay Malik, who scored 12 points on Monday, also said that he is happy with his performance. He told the reporters that he wasn’t really bothered about his Super 10.
Instead, he was focusing majorly on getting as many points as possible for the team so that the they could win.
On being asked how Manjeet Chillar being the senior player in the side motivates him during the game, Malik said,
“Manjeet Chillar is a senior player and he has motivated me a lot. He always tells me that if the other player can do it, so can you. I think it’s only because of his motivation that I have been able to perform this well.”
