Robin Gosens have completed a transfer to Inter Milan from Atalanta; the Nerazzurri have signed the German on a loan plus obligation deal, beating out competition from the likes of Newcastle United.
Serie A champions – and current league leaders – Inter Milan have completed the signing of Robin Gosens from top-four chasers, Atalanta.
The German wing-back joins Inter on an initial six-month loan deal with the club obligated to sign him at the end of the stipulated loan period if certain conditions are met. The Nerazzurri will reportedly pay Atalanta a 25 million euros fee should the same happen.
“I’m so proud to have joined one of the biggest clubs in Europe. I’m thrilled to be here and can’t wait to get started,”
We spoke on a video call last night. He [Inzaghi] told me what he expects of me and I told him a bit about my ideas. We’re very excited to work together and I can’t wait to get out on to the pitch with the team and the boss.”
said the 25-year-old in his first interview with the club.
As is reported, Gosens has already penned a four-year deal with Inter in addition to his six-month loan period. He will wear the number 18 for the reigning Serie A champions.
Inter are also close to reuniting manager Simone Inzaghi with his former colleague Felipe Caicedo, reports Football Italia. The manager worked with the striker during his time at Lazio, where the Ecuadorian was a second-choice option behind Ciro Immobile but was often himself used as the spearhead in attack.
Caicedo left Lazio for Genoa last summer following the departure of Inzaghi but has featured sparingly for the perennially-struggling Ligurians. The 33-year-old will join the champions on a six-month loan deal, becoming their eighth first-team signing of the season – and second of the January transfer window.
Caicedo will, in all likelihood, provide backup to Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez at Inter. The pair have scored twelve goals each this season, often partnered with each other or with one of Joaquin Correa or Alexis Sanchez.
