The Pro Kabaddi League has seen the rise of many excellent raiders in its previous editions, with “Showman” Rahul Chaudhari to “Dubki King” Pardeep Narwal, raiders have captivated fans with their impressive skills and the knack to score points for their franchises at crucial points.
But, no one seems to come close to Naveen “Express” Kumar, when it comes to scoring points. The Dabang Delhi raider reached the 500 raid point milestone in the Pro Kabaddi League against U Mumba, racking up seventeen points in the fixture.
Naveen broke Maninder Singh’s record to become the fastest raider to reach the 500 point milestone, previously Maninder held the record reaching that feat in 56 games. Naveen surpassed the Bengal Warriors skippers’ record with his super ten against U Mumba completing the achievement in just 47 appearances.
The raider was exceptional against U Mumba, while it took him some time to get his footing in the game. Once he started to score points, he fired on all cylinders against his opponents who had no answers against the Dabang Delhi raider.
DD start their season with wins over Puneri Paltan & U Mumba
While the Pro Kabaddi League is still in its initial stages, Dabang Delhi is on cloud nine at the moment with big wins over Puneri Paltan and U Mumba in their opening contents. The Delhi-based franchise is on top of the table with ten points in two games, leading above defending champions Bengal Warrior who also have ten points.
The Dabang Delhi raiding unit has been just stellar so far in the season, with Kumar scoring thirty-three points in the first two games. Vijay Malik has been an excellent support raider for the superstar racking up eleven points for his side.
The defensive unit for Dabang Delhi is perhaps one of the strongest sides in the competition, with names such as Joginder Narwal, Jeeva Kumar, Manjeet Chillar, and Sandeep Narwal. All of them have been lethal with their teamwork against the opposition raiders.
Delhi has scored nineteen points while on defence in their two games, with Narwal taking charge of the unit accumulating six points in defence. If DD can continue to ride on their early momentum, they could be the biggest threat to Bengal Warrior’s title defence this season.
