Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has already suggested that there are way too many players at the club when he took over and he is looking to ship out some options.
Leading the charge are Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard, whose representatives have made evidently clear that the players want to move in January as they are unhappy with the time they got.
Martial’s agent made it clear that the player is seeking a move away in the winter transfer window. To add to it, the latest addition to this list is Edinson Cavani, who is open to joining Xavi Hernandez at Barcelona until the end of next season before moving back to his home country.
The former Paris Saint-Germain marksman, who signed with the club last season right on the brink of the window, ended up having a massive impact on the club. He scored 17 goals across all competitions despite not playing a lot of minutes, and was instrumental in the club reaching the Europa League final. He had scored in both legs of the semifinal against AS Roma, and equalized in the final against Villarreal.
Martial joined the club for a massive fee from Monaco back in 2015, and scored 79 times for them across all competitions. After finishing as the top-scorer in 2019/20 for the club, he scored just seven times last season and made just seven appearances in the league this season. His contract with the club extends until 2024, and United can make a major sale with his exit.
Lingard’s contract expires at the end of this season, and it seems like the footballer could be moving to another Premier League club in January. Newcastle United have had contact with his team, and that is one transfer everyone must look out for.
The German manager, who has been appointed as interim until the end of this season and will be acting as a consultant until 2024, will be given some funds in January to strengthen his side. It is being speculated that RB Leipzig’s Amadau Haidara and Tyler Adams are major targets for Rangnick, and with Haidara previously stating his dream to play for United, the possibility of that transfer happening has increased.
