Despite spending heavily on their attack over the last two years, Chelsea are eyeing further reinforcements. As per BILD, the Blues are monitoring Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, but they are not the only superclub interested in his services.
The Paris-born attacker has had experience representing some of the best clubs in the world. After graduating from the Paris Saint-Germain academy – and making a few senior team appearances – he joined Juventus in 2014. His year at the club, during which the Bianconeri won the Serie A, was followed by a two-year loan to Bayern Munich – and he has been in Bavaria ever since.
The Frenchman, who holds the incredible record of winning the league title in every single season of his professional career, will be out of contract at Bayern in 2023 and is reluctant to pen a new deal.
As such, the club could look to sell him for a profit while they can with Chelsea among the clubs monitoring the situation closely. Pricing him away from the German champions could cost the Blues somewhere in the region of 50 million pounds.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Fenerbahce’s young Hungarian centre-back Attila Szalai, reports The Sun. The 23-year-old is under contract until 2025, but the Blues could look to bring him in during the January transfer window for a fee believed to be in the region of 20 million pounds.
The youngster moved to the Turkish club from Apollon Limassol in January 2021, but he has been a fixture in the Hungarian national team since 2019. Leicester City and West Ham United are also keen on the youngster – as are a horde of other clubs – but Thomas Tuchel sees Szalai as the eventual successor to Thiago Silva at Chelsea. The 23-year-old has made 11 appearances throughout all competitions this season, adding to the 22 he made last year.
