Sri Lanka batter Danushka Gunathilaka, awaiting trial on charges of alleged sexual assault, was granted bail on Thursday. He appeared in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court via an audiovisual link from Parklea jail. Gunathilaka was arrested by Sydney police on November 6 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, where he was staying as a part of the Sri Lankan team for the T20 World Cup. England’s T20 World Cup hero Alex Hales has been reprimanded by Cricket Discipline Commission over an old social media post. A photo of him in “blackface” taken at a student party in 2009, was published by British newspaper The Sun last year. The Pakistan Cricket Board has given permission to its players – who were originally not part of the player auction – to sign up with the Cricket South Africa’s SA20 league. The PCB decision comes after SA20 introduced wildcard entries, through which each franchise can bring in one extra player in the squad.
