The squad also sees the returns of Ibrahim Zadran, Karim Janat and Ikram Alikhal, who were left out of Afghanistan’s previous ODI series in January against Ireland in UAE.  These players…

The next two ODIs of Australia’s ongoing tour of the Caribbean have been rescheduled by Cricket West Indies (CWI) after a COVID-19 positive test of one non-playing member of the home team’s staff threatened to jeopardise the series. Be it in the ODIs or even the T20Is, Ireland have given South Africa a run for their money. Ireland’s win in the second ODI was superb but since then, things have gone downhill for Ireland. Indian batters and bowlers got a decent enough workout in the middle before their three-day warm-up match in Durham against the County Select XI ended in a draw this Thursday. Having rested multiple of their first-choice picks, including skipper Virat Kohli, the tourists got the chance to assess their preparations for the forthcoming Test series against England. A reassuring unbeaten century from wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul (101* retired) was the headlining aspect of the Indian innings on Day 1, where they opted to bat first upon winning the toss. Exceptional performances from opening batsman Jason Roy and wrist-spinner Adil Rashid helped England come out triumphant in a battle of attrition against Pakistan in the third and final T20I in Manchester on Tuesday. Rashid picked up a four-wicket haul (4/35) on the day. He dismissed Pakistan’s key batsmen – skipper Babar Azam (11), Sohaib Maqsood (13) and Mohammad Hafeez (1) – through his spell and tilted the scales in England’s favour.
