Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has played with – and against – some of the top talents at both club and international levels. However, the attacking midfielder did not get an opportunity to share the pitch with two of his favourite players whom he holds in the highest regard.
The two players are – Ronaldinho and Andres Iniesta. The former FC Barcelona duo left Camp Nou way before Lingard faced the Blaugrana back in 2019.
“They were my two growing up that I used to watch quite frequently. Ronaldinho was an unbelievable player and it was the same with Iniesta.
“I always used to watch the way Iniesta carried the ball and the way he got into little pockets of space. So I would have to say those two, 100 per cent,”
the 28-year-old said in an interview with England Football.
When quizzed on which player he would like to trade lives for a day, Lingard asserted,
“Ronaldo. Cristiano.
“I just want to see his day-to-day life. I want to see what he eats, what he drinks, the way he trains. I would love to get an insight into that.”
Both Ronaldo and Lingard have been in good goalscoring form for the Red Devils. They both scored in Ronaldo’s comeback Premier League match against Newcastle United in their 4-1 win. Lingard also scored a late winner against West Ham United (2-1) in their last league encounter.
