The Frenchman’s agent has hinted, again, that a return to Turin in the future might be on the cards for the player, whose Manchester United contract runs out next summer.
“Paul Pogba is out of contract in June, so we’ll talk with Manchester United and we’ll see what happens,”
“Juventus? Paul still loves Turin. There’s a chance that Pogba will return to Juventus, yes – but it also depends on Juventus’ plans.”
he told Rai Sport.
Pogba initially signed for Juventus in 2012 after deciding against renewing his contract with United. A similar situation could unfold next summer, which would see the Red Devils lose the Frenchman for nothing for the second time. In contrast, they paid Juventus a world-record €105 million fee to re-sign the midfielder in 2016.
Over the last six seasons, Pogba has made more than 200 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals in all competitions. However, the midfielder hasn’t been able to string together top-drawer displays consistently, leading many fans to voice concerns about his capabilities over the years.
Raiola’s previous comments regarding his client and his future at Manchester United haven’t helped either. In December 2020, Raiola claimed that Pogba had no future at the club.
Nevertheless, there is still a little optimism that Pogba will sign a contract renewal with Manchester United, as reported by The Athletic on September 13, 2021.
It is believed that recent events – including the arrivals of Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo – have had a positive effect on the Frenchman. However, several factors will ultimately affect Pogba’s final decision, such as the team’s performance this season and their long-term plans.
