Dhawan and Ayesha Mukherjee’s separation was speculated during the last few months as they weren’t seen together.
Dhawan and Mukherjee were pleased with their marriage and often spotted together for the best part of the last nine years. However, recently, the pair were not seen with each other and they didn’t post pictures together on social media either.
On Monday, Ayesha took on Instagram to hint at the divorce. She first spoke about being a two-time divorcee and later expressed her grief on handling the emotional pain that comes when a relationship breaks down.
This was Ayesha’s second marriage, the first being with an Australian businessman. She was already a mother of two girls before she tied the knot with India’s left-handed opener in 2012.
Dhawan had no issues with adopting the two girls. Ayesha had another child with Shikhar, Zoravar, who was also seen with them regularly. A few years ago, Ayesha and Zoravar also featured in an interview of Rohit Sharma and Dhawan on Youtube.
While Ayesha was quite vocal about the situation and has been quite active on the social media site over the last few days, Dhawan remains to stay aloof from this situation. His recent posts suggest that he is focused only on cricket.
On Tuesday, the 35-year-old posted a dashing photo of himself in the Delhi Capitals jersey and spoke about how everyone needs to work hard to achieve their goals.
