Dortmund’s Erling Haaland has been in the news throughout the transfer window. The Norwegian goal machine has been linked with several clubs in the past couple of months. After being linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea and the Manchester clubs, he is now a suspected PSG target.
Recent reports suggest that PSG are on the verge of submitting a €200 million deal for the 21-year-old. However, the club’s sporting director Michael Zorc believes the rumours will only increase as the transfer window closes in a couple of days.
When asked if the Black and Yellows will be tested with a €200 million deal or not, Zorc told Kicker:
“We are a football club, not a bank! Our position is very clear and did not change.
“I assume that we will now be confronted with wild rumours for another two days. Our position is clear, I don’t need to play the parrot all the time.”
PSG are currently looking for alternatives to replace Kylian Mbappe, who is reportedly all set to leave the Ligue 1 outfit for Real Madrid. Therefore, the Parisians have raised their interest in Haaland while Everton winger Richarlison is also in contention to move to land at Parc de Princes.
Haaland joined Borussia Dortmund in January 2020 and has become an instant fan favourite at the Signal Iduna Park. He guided Dortmund to DFB Pokal title last season and has been exceptional in the Champions League. He won the UEFA Best forward for his heroics last season as he finished as the league’s top scorer with 10 goals.
The 21-year-old has already scored 43 goals in 46 appearances for Dortmund and has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe right now.
